PADI Discover Scuba® Diving Experience
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? If you want to find out but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving will let you try scuba diving to see if you like it while under the direction of one of our PADI Instructors. While not an actual scuba certification, during the Discover Scuba Diving experience you will learn how to use scuba equipment in shallow water and get a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world.
How long does it take? Not Long, you can take the short classroom session and the quarry session in a couple of hours, depending on the number of students.
To sign up for a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 10 years old. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to be in reasonable physical health. Are you ready to try it out?
What You Learn
You learn the basics safety guidelines and skills you need to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. Yes, you really can breathe underwater and this course allows you to try scuba out. Get ready to:
- Learn what wearing scuba equipment feels like and how easy it is to move around underwater while wearing it
- Find out what i’s like to breathe underwater and learn whether you can be comfortable there
- Learn some basic skills and safety rules that will carry over to your full scuba certification course when you take the next step
The Scuba Gear You Use
All the equipment you will need is included in a Discover Scuba Diving experience. You’ll use all the basic scuba gear including a mask and snorkel, fins, a wetsuit, a buoyancy compensating jacket (BCD) that carries your weights and scuba tank, a scuba regulator to breathe from and instrumentation to monitor depth and air supply.
The Learning Materials You Need To Bring
Just your willingness and undivided attention, a towel and swimsuit.
Prerequisites
To take participate in the Discover Scuba Diving program you must be at least 10 years old.
